Dr. Barrett extended his training by completing an implant residency with the Triangle Dental Institute in Durham, North Carolina. He also completed an advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) program through the U.S. Army at Fort Benning (now known as Fort Moore) near Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Barrett's advanced training allowed him to gain experience in top care in sedation dentistry, wisdom teeth extraction, guided surgical implant placement, and special techniques in endodontics.

He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) and a Fellow and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He earned his fellowship in 2017 and completed more than 1,100 hours of continuing education to earn his mastership in 2024.

Dr. Barrett also has Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and ASA III Advanced Patient Care certifications.

Dr. Barrett is an active member of the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Barrett has made Celina, Texas, his home since 2018 and is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Dr. Barrett is married to his wife, Kayla, who is also a dentist. When they aren't at their dental offices, they enjoy camping, fishing, and spending as much time as possible with their energetic son, Dan. Dr. Barrett loves archery and gardening, and with a passion for family, he coaches his son's Under 7 PASO soccer team. He also loves trying out new recipes for smoked and barbecued food.

Dr. Maahs is committed to continuing his education, having completed training in advanced endodontics, operative, radiology, implant overdentures, and prostheses. He is currently undergoing training to obtain his certification for nitrous oxide and a level 1 sedation permit.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Maahs is an active member of the Hispanic Dental Association. He is looking forward to joining the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association in the near future.

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Maahs has recently moved from Lincoln, Nebraska, to his new home in Dallas, Texas. He now enjoys life with his fiancée, Caelin, and their two spirited Siamese cats, Sushi and Cloud. They enjoy playing board games, singing karaoke, and attending live music performances. They also value staying connected with loved ones. If given the opportunity, Dr. Maahs has a soft spot for get-togethers where he can fire up the grill for some delicious barbecue. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, he finds joy in gardening, hiking, fishing, running, and exploring nature.
